Changes to the DIAC Student Visa requirements - in effect from 01 July 2010

From the 1st July, 2010 students will have to obtain OSHC for the proposed duration of their student visa.

Duration of Course- Duration of Visa

10 months or less - The visa will be usually granted up to one month longer than the duration of course. 

Longer than 10 months -The visa will usually be granted up to two months longer than the duration of the course. 

Longer than 10 months and finishing at the end of the Australian academic year (October – December)-The visa will usually be granted up to March 15 of the following year.

Students will have to make payment for OSHC for the whole duration of their stay in Australia initially with payment of their tuition fees.
